Jacques Cousteau made Cozumel famous the world over for its abundance of sea life. And once you’ve dived the reef here, it’s easy to see why it’s such a popular dive spot. From colourful corals to big groupers and everything in between, you have a chance to see them in their natural habitat a few short minutes away by boat from the island.
Thanks to a local connection we got a good deal on our dive trip. The ferry to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen however can’t be negotiated; it’s around 155 pesos each way (about 12.5 USD). And there’s no point in buying a return ticket since you get no discount and the two companies that operate the ferry have different timetables. And there aren’t that many crossings each day.
As far as diving is concerned, Cozumel is an amazing place to go underwater! And it’s even better when you go with a big group of friends!
