Thru the Lens: Barranquilla Carnaval

Barranquilla is a large industrial city on the Caribbean coast, about 100km from Cartagena and best known for Shakira and its carnaval, the second biggest in the world after Rio’s. Judging from the locals’ reactions upon seeing us foreigners, it’s safe to say that the carnaval here is still flying under the radar. The centrepiece is a huge parade which is followed by street parties all over the city. Definitely worth going to Colombia for!
